In his article titled, “Is being a critic of Israeli policies anti-Semitic”, David Palumbo-Liu of Salon News states “Recently a battle has begun over the way the U.S. State Department defines the term “anti-Semitic.”
“…the current State Department version, “defines more general ethnic and religious hatred against Jews, but also declares that it is anti-Semitic to demonize Israel, deny Israel’s right to exist, liken Israeli policy to that of the Nazis, and blame Israel for all inter-religious tensions.”
“…57 rabbis from California and 104 University of California (UC) faculty members called on UC administrators to adopt that State Department definition when dealing with protests and potential discipline for anti-Semitic statements.” (Source: see link at bottom)
In case you don‘t know, let’s get this straight! The word “Semitic” is derived from the name “Shem”, who was one of the three sons (Shem, Ham, Japheth) of Noah, as recorded in Genesis 5:32.
The term “Semite” may be used to refer to any member, or number of peoples of ancient Middle East including the Akkadians, Assyrians, Arameans, Phoenicians (Lebanese), Hebrews, Arabs, and their descendants. These are called a “Semitic speaking people”. (source Wikipedia)
It’s been well-established by both Jewish and Gentile scholars that 80-90% of modern so-called Jews are NOT a Semitic people.
Most present-day Jews are from Southern Russia who converted to Judaism in 700- 800 C.E. (A.D.) They have no blood or ancestral connection to biblical Israel or the land of Palestine. It is these counterfeits and impostors who are presently occupying the land of Palestine and committing war crimes and crimes against humanity with absolute impunity.
It’s important to note, that the modern term “Jew” was inserted in the English translations of the bible in the 1800’s C.E. (A.D.). Prior to that time there was no such word as “Jew” in the bible.
In the 1900’s C.E., according to some authors, the meaning of the term “Jew” was twisted to mean modern day Jews. For example, “gay” once meant “happy”, now it means “homosexual”. This bending and twisting of the meaning of “Jew” was done by elite and powerful Zionists to promote a future Jewish state. (See Origins of the Scofield Bible)
In the English bibles, the present-day term “Jew” must be understood, biblically and contextually, as one who lives in the ancient biblical territory called Judea, or it can mean one who belongs to the tribe of Judah, one of the 12 tribes collectively called “Israel”– the father of the 12 tribes. (article continues below pic)
Judah (Jew) is NOT Israel! It is just one tribe that is part of Israel. That is, Judah (Jews) do not represent the total/complete ancient biblical House (12 tribes) of Israel.
Biblical Judah were ISRAELITES, but NOT Israel, nor were they called by the present day term “Israelis”. As a side bar: at one time, ancient Israel and Judah were separate territories and were at war with each other, as recorded in 1Kings 14: 30.
Similarly, for instance, I live in Nova Scotia, which represents just one province of the ten provinces and three territories that make up Canada. We, in Nova Scotia, do NOT refer to ourselves as Canada.
Nonetheless, we regard ourselves as Canadians just as the ancient Jews (Judah) rightly regarded themselves as Israelites, but were not Israel.
If we, Nova Scotia, referred to ourselves as “Canada”, we’d be a complete laughing stock. We are a section/piece/fraction of Canada – just one of many provinces that constitute Canada. Can you see the difference and distinction between being an Israelite and Israel, between Canadians and Canada?
Jewish Rabbis and others have labelled the indigenous Palestinians as anti-Semitic. What hogwash!! How in the hell can a true “Semite” be against him/herself?
Lastly, as David noted in his Salon News article, if the State Department’s definition of anti-Semitic is adopted “ then ardent supporters of Israeli state policies have won a huge victory — they have essentially made Israel immune from criticism. But that victory is based on false reasoning, if not a lie.”
